John Owens Services, Inc.

We keep going back to John Owens because the service is great, they are genuine, honest and perform the work at the highest level of professionalism. Plus the folks there are nice, which goes a long way with me :) FYI, we have used John Owens Services for plumbing for decades to help along our 70 year old Eichler (!). Eichler owners will know that radiant floor issues and too narrow galvanized pipes plague these homes. JO knows just what to do.

After 8 years of giving John Owens Services our exclusive business, including purchasing a new hydronic heating system with installation (over $20,000), all ongoing maintenance and other plumbing work over the years; unfortunately, recently they have shown to be unreliable, hard to reach and combative about previously agreed upon services. When we tried to get JOS to finish the project and address a new issue with the boiler, they were non-responsive and noncommittal, though we were without heat or hot water. As John Owens described in his own words, given we only generate "...a very small amount of revenue..." he suggested that it would be " ...time for you to find another boiler hydronic contractor."

Had a leak in some copper piping at the end of September, John Owens came out the following Monday (Oct 2) and sent me a quote. Despite many back and forths, they never scheduled anyone to come out until Nov 4. That person called in sick. They told me they'd follow up on scheduling, but never did. When I called back in, they told me they didn't actually have the part they needed. So, 6 weeks and running with still no water running in this part of the house, and somehow they still don't have the parts they need. Folks answering the phone do not coordinate with each other, and no one knows why it might take 6 weeks for them to obtain the right piece of copper piping… or why they never respond to my various texts or emails.

We had some pipe blockage at our Eichler in which they determined the hydrojet cleaner would be needed. They did a thorough job and used the camera to show us with pictures through the entire process. Very professional and honest. I would work with them again for sure.

Our Ruud water heater started throwing up errors and stopped producing hot water. I looked up authorized technicians and John Owens Services came. They were able to come our same day, the tech was cordial and professional, and most importantly, got the issue diagnosed and resolved in well under an hour. Highly recommended!

John Owens saved the day. I had a big kitchen mess from a clogged up sink -and we had out of town guests, naturally. I called and Abel came right away. He found a very quick solution and left everything nice and tidy. I definately recommend John Owen services!

John Owens services has always been my go to for our properties. In this situation Abel did a very professional and dedicated evaluation. Fixed the problem without the need to replace the water heater and involve the city of Novato permit situations.
